Let’s Talk: Alpha-Gal Syndrome
For Ages 18 and Up
Join Johnston County Library on Thursday, May 29th at 6:00 PM for an informative session with Amanda Lewis from the OSU Extension as Lewis discusses Alpha-Gal Syndrome. Alpha-Gal syndrome is a tick-borne allergy to red meat and other products made from mammals. Learn about symptoms, diagnosis, and how to manage this increasingly common condition. SRP Performers
For All Ages
Summer Reading Programming continues at Johnston County Library this June! Featuring the theme “Color Our World” the annual SRP will host the following performers every Tuesday at 1:00 PM. These events are free and open to the public.

Book Club
For Ages 18 and Up
Engage in a book discussion with the Johnston County Library at 6:30 PM, Thursday, June 5th. Conversation, fellowship, and refreshments will be centered on popular book titles for adults to discuss. Participants will share views on “The Husband’s Secret” by Liane Moriarty. Snacks and coffee will be provided by The Johnston County Friends of the Library.

Kik It Up in the Kitchen
For Ages 6 - 15
Join Johnston County Library for a culinary experience on Thursdays at 2:00 PM starting June 5 through July 17. Crystal Burnezky-Robertson with the OSU extension, will present “Kik It Up: Encouraging Kids in the Kitchen”, a summer program to children. This program encourages children to eat healthier snacks and exercise more through engaging activities throughout the week. Signing up is encouraged.

Teen Cuisine
For Ages 11 - 18
Join Johnston County Library Tuesdays from July 1st through August 5th at 2:00 PM for “Teen Cuisine” a cooking program hosted by Crystal Burnezky-Robertson of the OSU Extension. This program will consist of 6 lessons that are designed to teach teens the importance of nutrition, food preparation, food safety, cooking skills, and physical activity. This program is designed for children and teens, ages 11 and up. Call to sign up.

Yoga Classes
For Ages 18 and Up
Get ready to energize your summer with an exciting yoga experience at Johnston County Library! Join us for a 15-week yoga course every Monday at 6:00 PM, kicking off on April 21st, and will go through Monday, July 28th. Led by the talented yoga instructor Marianne Townsley, attendees will explore a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa styles that will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized! Call to sign up.

Reading on the Refuge
For Ages 1 - 7
Get ready to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with the Johnston County Library! Join us for a delightful “Reading on the Refuge” at the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge Observation Tower on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM. Join us at the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge at 11766 South Refuge Road in Tishomingo.
